The Orwell Bluegrass festival opens on the 12th May 2011

What started out as being a bit of indulgence for us two old East Anglians who liked to hear bluegrass music without travelling to the four corners of the UK, has now become a structured and "organised" weekend. We love it, but never thought that we could become so focused on one thing, and still be enjoying ourselves.

We are hoping that all of you who are visiting this site will support us again in May 2011 (Thursday 12th to Monday 16th) when we are aiming to bring you some new bands, as well as having some of the best of those that have joined us in previous years, so that we create a festival that will have something for everyone.

We have booked the marquee, and are getting on with the "bread and butter" arrangements that hopefully will ensure that what we plan happens on the day.

We will keep putting the bits of the jigsaw in place, and will update the site nearer the event, when we have positive news to report.

In the meantime, enjoy the photos of last years festival that kind souls have forwarded to us, by looking in the Photo Gallery

The Hallow Tree venue is close to Ipswich and has loads of space for picking, camping, drinking and concerts. Hallow Trees Camp Ground has fantastic facilities, with several large halls for picking along side smaller rooms for workshops and our huge Concert tent which will seat 500.
