Welcome all to the 2013 and the 7th Orwell Bluegrass Festival, hosted once again at Hallowtree Scout Camp, and to be held on 10th/11th/12th May.

As many of you know this is a wonderful site to hold our Festival, with 46 acres of parkland containing purpose built buildings including toilet and shower blocks. There are many picturesque walks along the banks of the River Orwell with easy going footpaths for you and your four legged friends. Dogs are more than welcome on the site, as long as they are kept under control. However they are not allowed in the main buildings or marquees.

This year we have some amazing new Bluegrass bands as well as your old favourites, plus a wide selection of Old Time music. The Main Stage is busier than ever, with bands coming from all over the UK. It also gives us great pleasure to announce that “Sons of Navarone” will be travelling from Belgium to join us for the duration of the festival, performing on the Main Stage and holding instrument workshops.

Last year, due to popular demand, we enlarged the Old Time Marquee and this was well supported. Consequently this year we will once again be hosting the Old Time Marquee, with the support of FOAOTMAD, where a great selection of Old Time Music and Dance will be held.

The Bar as usual will be located in the main building serving traditional beers, lagers, wines and spirits. The Open Mike Bar Stage will be hosting a variety of music commencing 13.30 Saturday. If you wish to perform on this Stage, please come along to the Bar to book your slot as soon as possible after arrival as this is on a first come first served basis. There will also be an Open Mike session in The Old Time Marquee.

The catering services this year will be provided by Bombillo Events Ltd who are based in the West Country, and we know from personal experience provide high quality food at very affordable prices.
